  • Darker from age than the earlier bottles. Not nearly as expressive as other bottles of this vintage that I’ve opened. The muted nose and a decided drop off in acidity marks this wine. Definitely not an ager. Deep dried apricot intensity, but, for the most part, the nose and palate are red apple. The mid-palate and finish are short; shorter than other bottles. Without a doubt, this is a wine just past peak. It should be consumed soon. Nevertheless, it is a pleasurable wine. 13.5% alc. With shrimp and andouille sausage cakes. A very fine pairing with the heat of the sausage cut by the sweet fruit of the wine, yet it’s not too much for the savoriness fo the shrimp. Recommended with reservations.

  • A little bit of golden color peaking around a silver moon color. The acidity carries the fruit well, but I have to wonder where it will be in 6 to 12 months. The fruit is full and lively with peach, pear, white flower blossoms and just mouthfilling richness. Fully ready to drink and no need to keep this any longer, it’s a wine that is long on pleasure and short on future life. 13.5% alc. With spiced shrimp, melted butter and homemade biscuits. mmmmMMMM, Good Eat’n! Recommended

  • The color reflected more the absence of color than of a color itself. Asian pear, apricot, mineral, smoke and spice (including nutmeg) made for a wonderful bottle on a “little Friday” evening. The body is leaner and lighter than I would prefer, but that bespeaks of the subtly of the wine itself. For $17, this is the QPR winner for the month. 13.5% alc. Cheese ravioli in a pancetta cream sauce that really brought out the nutmeg in the wine. Recommended.

  • Light golden color. A pleasant, but not overdone apricot and peach with a bit of honey and mineral on the nose. A very satisfying nose. It’s all repeated on the palate with spice on the finish and little bit of toast. A rich, creamy and mouthfilling wine. Frankly, an excellent wine. With oyster wontons.... a perfect pairing.
