Sunday, February 05, 2006 Pale straw color. The nose offers up apricots, white flowers, a tad bit of toast and something a bit off-putting of a musky note. Perhaps a bit of TCA (even though this has a synthetic cork). It lacks the minerality of a Touraine Chenin Blanc, but retains the flowery lightness. Fairly crisp but not as lively as perhaps it should be. Perhaps the 6 months in french oak did this wine in as it ends on a somewhat heavy toasted note with a bit of spice and ginger. But for $12, I’d certainly give it another chance. With bread, montbriac cheese and tapanad. 13% alc.
