A little past its prime, but not by much. No signs of premox, it just didn't have as much fruit as I was expecting. Buttery and oaky like a lot of CA Chardonnays. If you still have any of this, drink it NOW.

I was less impressed with this bottle as I've been with others. Beyond the pear fruit I picked up some butterscotch. Restrained to the point of being light. Lacking acidity and woody. Not oaky -- woody.

This is one of the best Chardonnays I have ever had. First of all, it only had slight undertones of oak. I prefer non-oaky chardonnays so this was considered better than most right away. But then, the taste, was absolutely delicious. It tasted of creamy pears held up by the slight oak notes. We had this with Shrimp Risotto and this wine was as creamy as the risotto. The mouth feel was full and with each sip I took I just let it sit on my palate, not wanting to swallow because it was so good. I wanted this wine to last forever and I can't wait to find more. I picked this up in December at $16.99, a $15 savings due to being a PA Chairman's Selection.

First tastes were phenomenal. However, seemed to develop a somewhat astringent aftertaste as we sipped. Oak was nicely balanced.
