  • Popped and poured; consumed over two days. Consistent notes on both days. Burnished golden color with moderate mousse. Medium viscosity. On the nose, ripe raspberries, white flowers, meringue, brioche. On the palate, the wine is dry with a medium+ acid. The texture is almost oily. Long chalky finish. A rich champagne with the 2015 vintage on full display. No disgorgement data available.

  • Yeasty and vinous on nose, along with citrus. Apple, pear, lemon on palate, hint of yeast less present than in previous bottle. Some tangerine notes with more air. Vinous style. Quite good.

  • Yellow-gold color with fine mouse and small bubbles. Yeast, lemon and ripened peach on the nose.

Palate was a little oxidized, almost maderized on opening but quickly began showing brioche, stone fruits, lemon and ripe golden apples.

  • This 65% Pinot & 35% Chardonnay blend shows a yellow-gold color in the glass with scents of yeast, oak, yellow peach, nectarine, and a touch of stewed raspberries. On the palate, there are flavors of stone fruit, marzipan, and lemon. Very good acidity on this wine that paired well with some kielbasa. Love the combo of the fat and the acid to cut through it all.

The dosage is 8 g/L and has spent 5 years on the lees. This was a great find for a good deal on Last Bottle and I would definitely buy again if it were to come around. This is a very good wine that should age well and is drinking well now. This is a definite buy if you can get your hands on it!

  • Retail $60. 65% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay. From the Aube, a relatively recent addition to the Champagne region, this vintage wine (which I purchased from Invino.com for $28) is stellar. Sure, it is not on par with some of the titans from the region, but at around thirty bucks? This comes awfully close to a whoa. Some color on the nose (more of a golden than a straw or yellow), with tons of golden apple on the nose, with yeasty notes, and the palate follows suit. Rich, on the verge of unctuous, with plenty of brioche and lovely apple notes. Again, really close to a whoa. Fantastic.
