not blind, Magnum, decanted for one hour In great shape, at his peak, some coke notes, some cassis, lush and powerful. Bordeaux style alcohol wise. 97-98

An Epic Summer Wine Weekend - Year 2; 6/30/2023-7/2/2023 (Muskoka, Ontario, Canada): This wine pours medium garnet in the glass, medium to light bricking. The nose is lifted and complex of eucalyptus, dark cherry, plum, leather, hay, ginger, cedar, and dark chocolate. The palate is rich and deep with medium tannin and medium plus acid, closing harmoniously on dark chocolate, dark cherry, and sweet cedar. This wine was polarizing at the table, with some not particularly caring for the eucalyptus notes, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

From a pristine bottle with an in neck fill, this was. the youngest bottle of this wine to date, even younger and fresher than a magnum I had a while back.
Mint, cola, dark fruit, multi layered nose and palate. Just beautiful!

Wine Workshop: Heitz Martha's Vineyard (The Dutch): One of my favorites of the tasting and generally well liked. Just a beautiful wine. More of a compote jam style of blackberry. Balanced. Almost velvety in style. Comes together more and more in the glass (another one that I left for the end of the evening). It's really delicious.

Pausing for the Cause Fundraiser and Dinner (Galit - Chicago IL): Mature and earthy, this is a wine that has never really performed well (for me) through the decades, and tonight's bottle was similarly enjoyable, but nothing more.
