  • Drinking vastly better than my last bottle, plenty of fruit with a little leather and forest floor, it still has decent acidic support for the fruit. I don’t expect it will improve from here but this bottle still had plenty of life remaining.

  • Fatally reduced on the nose, better on the palate as spicy cherry fruit comes through and the reduction isn't as prominent. With extended air, the reduction faded and the fruit became more prominent, but it never really came together. A disappointing performance from a wine that was thrillingly vibrant in its youth.

  • The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, raspberry, orange and cherry. It tastes like blackberry, cherry and orange. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

  • Light to medium ruby. Lots of secondary perfume atop roses and mature strawberry fruit. Light weight but expansive, sinuous and wonderful tart red fruit. The acidity was perfectly integrated, the tannins resolved, and the finish gentle, fading and long. This was much more developed than a bottle we drank this spring, and it had none of the traces of oak I noted then. More Chambolle than Groffier, which has not always been the case with these wines. Probably the most nuanced bottle I've ever had from this producer, in fact, shockingly excellent.

  • More bright red fruit and less earth and funk than the Les Hauts-Doix that preceded it the night before. A bit of spice and the minerality comes through nicely. Also simple and a bit straight forward but I prefer this over the Les Hauts-Doix
