  Salmon color, and the aroma and flavor are more like rose than typical pinot grigio. Light strawberry aroma. Very crisp on the palate, with some salinity and acidity. Refreshing and food friendly.

  Il “Dessimis” è un Pinot Grigio del Friuli Venezia Giulia, utilizzate in purezza dal team della cantina Vie di Romans. Le viti, che hanno un’età superiore ai 20 anni, crescono con il sistema della spalliera e affondano le radici in un terroir contraddistinto da un sottosuolo di argilla rossa, dove abbonda la presenza di ferro e alluminio. Una volta raccolte, le uve vengono portate nei locali adibiti alla vinificazione, dove vengono diraspate, per poi effettuare la macerazione pellicolare a freddo. Segue la decantazione statica e la fermentazione, che si svolge per 18 giorni in contenitori d’acciaio. Infine si termina con l’affinamento, in cui il vino riposa dapprima per 9 mesi sui lieviti in piccoli botti di legno, e poi, dopo l’imbottigliamento, per ulteriori 10 mesi in vetro.
  Questo Pinot Grigio “Dessimis” firmato Vie di Romans si annuncia alla vista con il tipico colore ramato. Il ventaglio di profumi che ne delinea il profilo olfattivo racconta una traccia raffinata fatta di sensazioni fruttate, impreziosita anche da leggere sfumature tendenti al floreale. In bocca è di buon corpo, ampio e fasciante al palato, con un sorso dotato di una piacevole freschezza, orientato a tonalità fruttate Un’etichetta di assoluto spessore, che si “arrampica” sino ai vertici qualitativi delle principali guide di settore italiane e internazionale, sfiorando la perfezione.

  Tasted at an Italian wine tasting event. Really enjoyed! Slight red/pink in color. Floral nose with hints of strawberries. Fresh and full bodied wine. A wine that I did go home with after the tasting so looking forward to do a more in-depth tasting in the near future.

  Lay & Wheeler Italy Growers' Tasting: Brief notes: Tiniest hint of pink colour. Lovely nose of red apples and a touch of grassy-ness. Textured, plump and rich on the palate but not fatness. Vibrant and fresh.

Palate much more expressive, layers of richness, candied almond, citrus layers, white melon, lees notes of cream cheese, hint of oak tones. Acidity shines, alcohol seems medium but is 14.5% (!), medium plus finish. Easily the best Pinot Grigio I've had.
