Amazing color - medium garnet, but almost has a Phosphorous quality that jumps out of the glass. The nose is a bit shy for a young cab and a bit more earth laden than fruit. Alcohol is obvious (label says 14.1%). The taste starts out with bright red fruit and quickly followed by mint and eucalyptus. Still quite young, but settling down. Has an almost Italian quality to it that makes it better with food than most Cali cabs in this category.
“Richard Luftig” wrote the back label message. He aspires to “great California Cabernet Sauvignon at a reasonable price”. This wine is pretty good, price was OK. One must applaud the value proposition and the effort. I only wish “Great” was attainable for “reasonable”. Great Effort, Richard.

Deep purple color. Very aromatic, with notes of cassis/black currant, also some dark red berries, sweet spices, licorice, some minerality too, some floral notes and just some chocolate are rounding everything out. It‘s medium-full bodied, has medium-high acidity that provides a nice freshness and some medium+ tannin adding structure and grip. Pretty long finish. A very nicely balanced Californian Cab that has a nice balance of fruit, acidity and tannin. This will be great with some red meat and I would probably give it another year or two to integrate the tannin just a bit more. Lovely bottle and very good QPR. (92+)

Short decant. Still good, but not as impressed with this second bottle. Seemed a bit muted - nose and palate. Maybe needed a longer decant?
