Lots of fleshy and maturing stone fruit with sweet spice with good+ density and enough energy to remain vibrant enough. But clearly starting to lose steam. Better a few years ago.

Ripe peaches with toasted almond and a sweet spice, almost hinting at marzipan. Has the 2006 ripeness, but enough acidity to remain nicely fresh at 10+ yo. Best after open 30 minutes, then starting to fade and lose energy after open two hours. Best to drink up over the next few years.

Mid straw. Quite ripe and slightly exotic nose. Broad, ripe, rich attack and mid-palate. A touch warm on the finish. Ripe and rounded. Quite 06. Half a bottle left overnight shows more minerality and some of the exotic excess has calmed down. Not quite as individual but a better drink for it. On the riper side, but the air has moderated the excess. OK, quite satisfying, but... ***

(Bruno Colin Puligny-Montrachet La Truffière, Burgundy) Bruno Colin produces wines from just less than 20 acres of vineyards in Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet. He worked for his family at Michel Colin-Deleger et Fils until producing the first vintage of his own label in 2004. The 2006 bottling from the premier cru La Truffière vineyard is delicious, with notes of lemon curd, golden apple, and cream. Chalk takes over on the palate, and the crisp finish lingers nicely. Try it now with Dungeness crab, but the wine will improve with one or two years of age and will last well beyond that. Hot Picks

Consistent with last note. Excellent, balanced, ripe, with good minerality and just a hint of oak.
