Sushi at Matsuya Sushi Bar. Deep yellow gold, quite mature in appearance. Minerals, stone, olive oil, pineapple syrup, peach and mango. This was a decent wine, but it lacked structure and acidity on the palate, rendering it quite flabby after extended aeration in the glass. There was some good fruit, length and changing characteristics, but overall, not really representative of a good Batard Montrachet.

Another Casual Burgundy Dinner (Storefront Company - Chicago IL): Very interesting wine, I never would have thought this from Sauzet (or 2006) if served blind. Reserved and even slightly backward start. Big and powerful fruit but not ultra ripe and forward at all. Firmly structured. Needs more time.

Meh! Dark yellow, doesn’t have anything much left in the tank.
