  • surprisingly nice acidity after all these years. The nose was nice showing how it developed with age, without showing oxidation or caramelization. There was a nice fragrance with toasty oak and notes of honey along with some ripeness. The acidity on the palate, though, was still there with some tartness on the finish. After about 2 hours the wine showed some metallic notes on the nose.

  • Served from a magnum via coravin. Recommended by another member, this was spectacular. Bordering off dry, golden colour, Wonderfully rich nose and palate with fantastic length. Honeyed notes with wild flowers. Really a very special wine.

  • a little lean, some toasty oak, a little beeswax, somewhat floral like orange blossom. Nice ripeness on the palate. With a little age to this wine, no longer as fresh and tropical.

  • Very good quality Albarino from Rias Baixas in Spain, this wine has a deep lemon color and showing fairly intense nose of lemon zest, apricot, yeast, mango, mushroom and stony characters. Fairly light on acidity, it has more body than a typical Albarino but still fairly light, showing fairly good concentration of apricot, yeast, butter, mango and stony notes, accompanying the fairly long finish. Overall in good balance, the complexity and intensity demonstrated how a good Albarino can be. With only a little bit extra on the different elements this would become a truly outstanding wine. Ready to drink now though can benefit from further ageing of another 1-2 years.

  • Appearance: Bright and clear, medium (-) lemon, with watery rims and legs
Nose: Clean, medium (+) intensity and developing aromas of peach, jasmine, dried apricot, grapefruit, lemon, pear, toast and lees.
Palate: Dry, medium acidity and medium alcohol. Medium (+) body and medium (+) intensity flavors of peach, grapefruit, lemon, stony, ripe apple, honeysuckle, toast and lees. Medium (+) length.
Conclusion: Very good quality premium Albarino from Rias Baixas, with intense nose and palate showing complex and interesting characters. Apart from the fruit and aromatic style of Albarino, the aged features are also apparent and well balanced overall. A very all-round and integrated wine also with a fairly long length. Ready to drink now and at its peak.
