Supremely oily, dense texture, with an unusual mélange of aromas of white flower, watermelon rind, honey, beeswax, acetone, and a savory smell that I can only describe as Chinese noodle. Love it or hate it, it’s very distinctive. I loved it, and my dining companion hated it, but she’s not here to tell me I’m wrong so it’s an enthusiastic thumbs-up from me.

Northern Rhone tasting (Utregs Wijnhuis, Utrecht, NL): Pale lemon with medium intensity on the nose with white peach, honey, waxiness, creamy, salty, pear, white blossom and minerality. Medium+ acidity, mouth coating with a medium finish with a bitter note. 100% Marsanne, 9 months sur lie in (used) barriques

This is a delicious 100% Marsanne. Plenty of quince and sweet spice in the nose. The quince follows through to the palate with a slight oily feel and a ginger marmalade note.
