Dark ruby colors. Aromas of blackberries and tobacco. Tastes very fresh. Soft black cherry juice. Some earthiness. A bit heavy in the wood, but cedar flavor is a delicious addition.

A few Spanish wines at Eric's: About five years since the last bottle and it hasn't changed much. Still showing young. I wish I had a few more to drink over the next 10-15 years.

Showing some secondary notes of leather and tobacco along with some red fruits, black cherry and spice. Very dry with fine chalky tannins and tart acidity. More of a food wine than a quaffer.

I've tasted quite a bit of Priorat in the under $35 a bottle and am becoming familiar with this region. What I've tasted is well-made, soft, youthful even at ten years, fruit forward in a blended style. the most complex wine that I've tried is the Alvaros Palacios Les Terrasses, at a restuarant in Jerez, so no tasting note. This Capfons-Osso is a medium red with purple hints. Many years left and I believe that this wine will continue to improve. A complex but not powerful nose of red raspberry with a hint of plum and tobacco. fine structure, the tart acid and marked yet soft tannins hold a rich fruity red berry flavor with a light mouthfeel and only a moderate but sweet finish. Well made and similar to all of the Priorat at this price range...will I find a distinctive wine?
