The bottom third of the cork was all but disintegrated but the rest was dry and intact, so we'll call this one moderately well perserved (but not as well preserved as the last one). There's a little bit of oxidation (but just a little) giving this wine a sherry like smell and taste. There's also a lot of oak and a lot of heave over-ripe fruit. I like this wine. It's not refreshing like I'd like on this overly hot June evening. But it's still pretty good.

Lovely nose of butter, apples, and tropical fruit. Good weight on the mouthfeel with decent acidity for being 8 years old. I'm impressed.
