  • Medium golden yellow.

Strongly reductive. Scents of roasted hazelnut, acacia flower. Pure and elegant fruit of yellow peach and nectarine. Maybe a touch of guava (almost a signature of 2020 White Burg). Grapefruit acidity and pithy bitterness. Strong mineral character and texture. Citrusy long finish.

It's so tightly wound-up right now that it's hard to assess. Still, I sense inner tension and potential intensity underneath the massive reduction. I would love to revisit in several years.

  • Pale straw. Ooh yes, this is lovely, a hypothetical blend of the reductive, mineral new style of Meursault and the richness and buttery nuttiness of the old; a combination that works very well here. Nicely reductive on the nose, enhancing rather than overpowering, lightly toasted hazelnut and a hint of beurre noisstte on the palate with a minerally, quite grippy and somewhat lime-tinged finish. Really very good for villages, weight, complexity and length. ****

  • Just try this blind with Meursault Coche Dury and Roulot side by side. This is reduction refinement on minerally inflected steroids.

  • Reductive style of Meursault. Really good though with some ripe apples, flint, matchstick, popcorn and good acidity. Nice length. Quite impressive for a village but definitely too young.

  • An excellent village level Meursault, an impressive blend of all Jobard’s lieu-dits. Medium golden colour. Intense fragrant and complex aroma of buttery ripe apples, pastry cream, peaches, acacia, flints, touch of matchstick and oyster shell. Medium+ body, vibrant and taut but also elegant and silky. Pleasantly austere, fresh, saline and fragrant, concentrated mineral flinty and stony flavours, apple, floral notes, reductive hints, well integrated focused high acidity.
