  • Pithy nose. Quite acidic on entry, hard to parse the fruit underneath. Mineral in the mid with some grip. Long lean finish with an active texture/mouthfeel.

  • With very few exceptions (Pibarnon comes to mind), in my mind most Rose' wines should be consumed within a year of release. While they certainly evolve, they also tend to lose that liveliness that makes them so attractive as a youngster.

This is still an enjoyable bottle, but it doesn't have the verve it possessed a year or so ago. Note to self - find and consume the rest of my stash soon.

  • Haven't added a tasting note on this since June of last year and I saw Jeff's note from May indicating the wine had seemingly lost a step. I think I agree with that right now - I'm enjoying this, but it doesn't have the snap & liveliness it had in earlier bottles.

That said, if you like a sedentary rose', this might fill the bill. I have paired this tonight with Baudry's 2020 rose', which is also quite lean and stern, and my better half is making her version of paella, so I think these wines will be fine.

  • This was good, but I didn’t get the saline and minerality that I noted on previous bottles. This is my last bottle of this vintage, so no telling if it was the bottle or just me tonight.

  • Peaches and salmon. Nose is brisk, lemon and strawberries, pithy, some orange. Opens with a sharpish lemon acidity, a little bright, limited sweetness for a rose. As it warms up in the glass, the sharpness softens and a warmth comes through. Great structure and finesse. Excellent.
