Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Tasted at opening and then revisited a week later from a sample poured off and sealed without airspace for serving at a Zoom tasting discussing the winery and its vineyards

pale lemon color, a bit fizzy, aloof nose framed in saline and white stones, melon, on the palate vibrant and steely with a long and elegant profile, sensational tension, lean fruit notes coated in steel leading into a long lime-driven finish with a hint of mango, petrol notes, a week later with 2 hours of airing out of sample bottle- melon and dry peach on the nose, saline, intensely mineral, slate, lime-driven finish that is almost piercing in its intensity while remaining streamlined and steadily easygoing in its delivery, smooth on the surface of the palate at first but then slowly and self-assuredly a great depth buiilds which lingers beyond the finish, grapefruit and slate impressions on the endless aftertaste, young as it is- I get the sense this will be ready before the other grand crus.
