edit... My Private Wine Note: Lots of pepper on the nose almost overwhelms the slight dark fruit. The mouth feel is a sweet and sour experience. Palate is plum, pepper and oak. For an 8 dollar wine this has a bit going for it. I had purchased for my daughter's bridal shower, not a lot of true wine drinkers, turned out they were all white wine focused. I would definitely buy for a general dinner or party.

Notes taken after the bottle was opened for about an hour. Nose of earthy wood, vanilla pipe smoke and a bit of funkiness that I can't put my finger on. Strong red fruit on the front and mid palate balanced with toasted oak on the back end. The tart fruit carries through and takes out the oak on the finish.
Fairly good QPR that paired well with barbecued pizza.

Straight ahead Aussie shiraz. Its actually not all that over the top either, but has nothing of interest either really. No tannin at all makes this almost too smooth. Little bit of the fakeness that comes from some of these wines though where you wonder if your drinking wine or grapejuice.

inky purple with nice dark fruit, but does have some bitterness on the finish. For 6 bucks not bad for a small neighbor dinner
