Similar to previous but one bottle. Leather/cacao dominant on both nose and palate. This has wonderful palate staining length, but again just lacks a little in the way of complexity. Developing but not there yet. Best left for another two or three years I suspect. Difficult to do though...

Medium pale gold with a hint of onion skin. Mousse is firm with medium sized bubbles. A semblance of fine beading. The bouquet is certainly nearly developed and is dominated by polished leather and cocoa/chocolate, although there are fleeting glimpses of the primary strawberryish fruit, spice (ginger) and a higher tone of well hung pheasant. The palate is slightly behind, although leather is still the dominant theme. Good balancing acidity, a medium-full body and a dryish finish with reasonable length suggest a lowish dosage (4-5g/l?) and reasonable ripeness from good quality fruit. Not a star but might well develop into something more interesting with another two or three years bottle age. There are hints of comlexity in the bouquet that suggest that I might be underrating this, but 88 points for now.

Taken to dinner with friends. Similar note to previous. Certainly a touch younger with the primary fruits a little more to the fore.
