The best bottle of this dessert wine, way better than I thought it would ever be. Aromas of dried and candied fruits. Enough acidity to be not cloying. Very rich and lush texture. Superbly good with a cream cheese dessert.

A half bottle made from botrytised grapes of Gewurztraminer. Red tinged color. In general, lacks the dried fruit richness, complexity and concentration that the best botrytis grapes usually achieve. Noticeably missing is the spiciness typical for Gewurztraminer. Still, lushly textured and moderately sweet, with apricot fruit. Very affordable at $14 for a half bottle.

Golden yellow color. Nose that reminds me of a sweet chenin blanc - would have never guessed gewutz. Very nice concentration and good acidity to support it. This is very interesting as it is dominated by spices and bitter almonds. I actually enjoyed the taste profile, but might not be wide appealing. Doesn't quite have the depth that I'd like to fine in a fine desert wine, but this has time and the material to develop over time... 87-89+

Good, but very subtle for a late harvest. Very fine integration, nice composition, pleasant to the palate and the nose, but not outstanding in any direction other than the fact that impresses as very polished and refined.

Makansutra's Wine Dinner @ Golden Sands (Golden Sands @ AMK): Beautiful lychees carrying through most of the expression. Good length. Some spice but mostly one dimensional. It did feel a little like a young sauternes.
