  As was the case with prior vintages of this GSM blend from Drew, I found this to be an impeccable example from the Mendocino Ridge AVA. Clarity, restraint, and balance are the hallmarks of this so-called "cool climate" wine that shows meaty and herbal without any sense of heat burn or off-flavors in the finish. There's some tar but it's all of a whole, and for this vintage, while the bouquet was less impressive than previous, I picked-up a serious "stoniness" in the depths of the mid-palate that infused the wine with a seriousness beyond its price point. I've yet to not have a very fine drinking experience with a Drew GSM.

It keeps with the Drew style in that it is balanced and avoids excess. At the same time it is appropriately friendly and generous. Highly enjoyable over three nights. Bravo!
