Pale yellow white. Light lemon nose, pale honey, a little sulphur, reticent. Lemony opening too on tasting, a dash of lime bitters, saltiness and tonic. Not much depth? Agree with other reviews questioning the Halliday rating.

Decided to jump on one early to see what the fuss is all about. It’s very good but I was expecting a bit more based on the chatter, which to be fair, sets the bar a bit too high. There’s an excellent line of cool climate acidity running through it. The texture is there too, but I was wanting to see more based on expectations. Can see what some of the hype is about, maybe needs time, but I’ve had better ‘21 rizz out of great southern. Just sayin’

Drank at a blind tasting. Group initially thought old world riesling. Excellent florality, lemon curd and lime, some meal from the foudre. The depth and length was impressive, with subtle new flavours rolling along the tongue with each taste. There’s a reason this won wine of the year.
