Classic Nuits St. George. Had it next to 2002 Chevillon from same vineyard and Mangien obviously uses less new oak. Drinking at its peak, but will last a few more years. A stunning surprise.

Aromas of spice, dark fruit, berries and earth. Elegant and light, featuring flavors of cherries, white currant and strawberry.

Second Sunday Group: 2000 Frédéric Magnien Horizontal (Our house): Quite reticent. Cherry, perhaps some clove, and red fruit. Cherry and spice tones on the finish; didn't really open very much.

Still very young, but a classic NSG.
