  • i really like this wine in general...but i don't know what made this wine really good tonight. let it sit for about an hour...was a little spicy up front with some tannins then had some sweetness mid palate...finsised with some spice... went GREAT with Rachel Ray's Sausage Kale and Lentil Soup here: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/lentil-soup-with-kale-and-sausage-recipe-2201071
although we didn't use the Pecorino cheese...which would have made all of this even better. FYI our average scores seem to be lower than the Cellar Tracker community.

  • Wow. We really like this wine. i was originally influenced by the persuasive marketing of the good folks at Twisted Oak, selling me this as a benefit of being one of the "Twisted Few" wine club. Ahh late stage capitalism! Guilty as charged! i was told it was rare, so i purchased something like 6 bottles. i love this stuff. on the nose... earthy and spicy with a hint of sweetness. On the palate: not sweet, but not not sweet. medium tannins...spicy Peppery? Acidic like a good barbera. good finish....exhale...maybe a bit of smoke and pepper on the palate on the exhale. we drank this with smoked asparagus and mushrooms, and sweet and spicy marinaded flank steak, reverse seared (of course). Nice pairing. Not magic, but certainly some action.

  • Really liked this wine...good tannins...good spice. long finish... when paired with this dish: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1022252-skillet-shrimp-and-corn-with-lime-dressing the spice in both the dish and the wine was amplified...a bit of action...maybe magic.

  • Really liked this wine...drank it over two days with the help of a Corivan. Day one...there was not much on the nose through an aerator. although after a bit in the gas, there was a hint of clove and spice. Day 2 the smell of spice and clove was more pronounced. on the palate...nice mouth feel both days... taste of clove, spice, savory...maybe even a touch of smoke? a bit of smoke on the finish...some tannins, but not a lot...REALLY liked this unique grape. We have it as a part of The Spaniard, also by Twisted Oak, was fun to drink this side by side with The Spaniard...made me appreciate The Spaniard even more.
