Until recently I had rarely seen and rarely tasted “dry” wine from the Goldtröpfchen, so this was a treat in concept and execution. Not surprising that it showed peach and honey aromas, as that echoed the site, but happy result that it didn’t show any trace of heat despite the sun trap nature of the vineyard. Just barely off dry on the palate, it expanded all the way through to a rich, persistent finish with an impressive level of concentration. The overall profile did not convey any heaviness, yet it left a deep impression.
