Sous bois, raspberry; relatively full but diffuse, mouth-filling, perhaps beginning to fall apart but still retaining some balance, an aged wisdom not overly eager to please, long finish

Woodsy nose. Cherry initial flavor then coffee and cocoa with little mushroom mid palate, not a long finish but acidity balance dinner of chanterelles and pasta with cauliflower and prosciutto. Still has aging potential but drinking well now.

Color: medium ruby->medium/light ruby rim. Bouquet was what I hope to encounter with Burgundy: cranberries, beetroot, sous bois, a little smoke and earth. Great creamy, smooth palate showing earthiness, fresh strawberry and cranberry. Finishes long with a little note of wild game. Great acidity and drinking perfectly now; my rating will probably have to be revised upward next time!

Lovely wine with plenty of life ahead of it. Needs a year to two to hit its stride.
