  • Served with lasagna. I really liked this wine. It had a pleasant nose but not very strong. Flavors of tart cherries, spice, and earth were followed by old world funk on the finish. If tasted blind, I would say Italian or old world vs. California. This wine also had great texture to it. On the following day, I had the last glass from the bottle (stored under vacuvin). Still juicy and good but no euro-funk to be found. Purchased from the world's smallest tasting room (Carhartt tasting room in Los Olivos) for $24. I would get this again.

  • A: Light to medium body, with legs. Deep cheery red. 2/5
    N: Some VA. 1/5
T: Tannins and tartness are much less pronounced than a year ago. 2/5
F: A bit acidic finish. Great with tomato sauces. 2/5
Overall: Went well with pasta, but it's not as good as a year ago. Disappointingly on its way out.
