Cab franc really comes through in this wine. Medium to deep red, tannins are there but subdued from start. Red fruits, floral hints and light spice. 30 second finish. Nice wine

High % of Cab Franc which really set this wine apart from the others tasted today, bright red fruit, crushed florals, bay leaf, savoury underlining along with firm yet silky tannins, this showed very well.
NR barely a 90 pointe here, 89/91 to be nice , I did not want to lower those insane nearly 100 pointers
What in the world is this wine... well at least it is long in the palate, but full of alcohol, oak, and tannins...
It does not stand a chance right to the elegant classics we tasted that dat next to it !
So BIG, this powerhouse is never ever drinklable at this state unless you want to chew hours of staves, I barley could feel any fruit in there for it is so high in alcohol and oak.
Napa can be elegant, and has its classics, next to this one there was Heitz at 1/3 the price, thretften, Inglenook in its new shape, well I guess it is the new trend up there. Again I mostly like Napa wines in shitty vintages were it looks like a great Bordeaux.
But man if you wish to try awesome Cabernet with good value, get a good Coonawarra, Wynn's, Parker, Rymill... Or MW ... Since I haven't tried WS it seems to be the hot spot for great Cab :)

Nice - more tannic and structured than expected -- fruit is taking a back seat at this stage. We'll hold others for the long haul!

Oakville AVA Tasting in London: Blackberry nose. Sweet black fruit. Mint chocolate. More black than red fruit on the finish. Still very primary. 91-92
