Blinded by my sister on this. Wasn't sure what to make of this - the acidity was high and quite tart, but the fruit was clearly from a warmer region, as it was deep and slightly lush. In the end, I settled on Spain, recent vintage Garnacha, maybe 2021. Two others (including my wife) correctly identified this as Syrah from Santa Barbara County. Oh well, you can't win 'em all.

Medium weight mid palate cold-climate Syrah from one of the best Rhone producers in SB county. If you are looking for a lighter, more acidic version of Tensley, this one's for you. Acidic, spicy, etc.
