This is a solid wine for the $. While it is four square, linear, and very new world in style, it is an easy drinker when you don’t want to think too much about what’s in the glass. Chewy and slightly dusty tannin on the finish.

Call me impressed. This drinks more like an $80-100 bottle, so the fact that I picked this up at Costco for $20 feels like an absolute steal. The wine is a touch riper than I usually prefer, but far from the typical CA cab nowadays. The wine is so alive aromatically, bursting from the glass with notes of sweet oak, incensed smoke, brown sugar, and toasted bread and nuts. The palette doesn’t have quite the same level of complexity as the nose, but it does strike a nice balance of acidity and tannin at a few degrees above cellar temps. Overall, really impressed and this would make for an incredible “house wine.”

Very surprised by this wine. Picked up from a grocery store. Splash decanted, back to bottle, followed for an evening. Labeled as 14.1% ABV.
Reasonably complex nose of dusty leather, sweet cigar, and dark currants. Palate has a hint of freshness that brings a true red fruit note. Full bodied and mouth filling but not over the top. Certainly ripe. Finish brings back some savory character with black fruit compote.
Phenomenal wine for $25. This is ripe, no way around it, but it has some gorgeous old school character. Very impressed. Might need to try more Dry Creek wines.
Drink now, not meant to age. Solid 90 for complexity and balance of ripeness with character.

Blackberry on the nose, very fruit forward on first taste right after opening with blackberry, plum, hint of vanilla. Tiny bit of smoky flavor.
After opening up for 15 mins has a dryer mouth feel, hint of cherry.
1hour later has opened up more and is sweeter. Still very fruity.
