Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • Perhaps my previous TN on this wine was a little severe. I was more enamored with this second bottle; it offers some nuanced, crisp, mineral-driven notes. That said, it is very much on the slight side, and many, many wines in the $15 - $20 range will be superior.

  • Strange things happened to the Explorer's Club allocations following the severe fires of the past couple of years. We have been given a range of much younger wines with 2021 grapes. This one is actually white with just one hour of extraction. Though when I say "white," there is the slightest hint of pink. To be charitable, I would say that it is delicate and subtle, very lean, high acidity (Dulcie was not impressed since this is definitely not fitting her style profile). It does not longer long on the palate. Let's return to full-on reds for future allocations.
