The wine was medium to dark garnet in colour and had a classic nose of rose petals, red fruit, red cherry, blood, spices and mint leaves. On the palate, the medium- to full-bodied wine showed red fruit, ripe cherry, spices, rose petal, marzipan, a hint of chocolate, roasted herbs, mild minty ethereal notes, a rusty nail component and a hint of mild black tea, with good acidity, high tannin and good length. Classic, but easy and a joy to drink!

nose: pretty and perfumed nose of red cherries, roasted herbs, roses, tar and a good dose of spices. Very good depth with a plushness to the nose as well
taste: silky and polished medium/full feel with good medium+ acidity as well as plush tones of roasted herbs, spices, red cherries and a touch of tar on the back end
overall: very well balanced and drinking extremely well right now. This was decanted for about 45 minutes and is well layered too. There is a bit of bricking at the rim showing off a bit of age

Browns Win! (Verite, Mauro Veglio, Nigl, Mazzocco, Mustilli): Decanted for sediment and served. This is still just shy of maturity but very close. Nice nose of roses, cherries and road tar. On the palate, tight layering. Perhaps an hour decant would have helped, but it is still very nice. Needs food (duh) to balance the wine. Really nice.

Fight Night Wines VII; 3/18/2011-3/19/2011 (Ben and Laura's, Kingsford MI): nose: plush nose of dark red cherries, licorice, roasted herbs, mint tones, various spice tones, and bits of rose petals. Excellent depth and forward on the nose while being balanced
taste: medium bodied with medium+ acidity and silky tannins with balanced tones of licorice, dark red cherries, spice tones, and bits of rose petals
overall: This was a real pretty barolo. Well balanced, it showed well after being popped and poured but it could've probably used a decant
