Tasted alongside 86 Ravenau Valmur, 2000 Coche Corton Charlemagne: This was a very interesting bracket and my score would probably be higher had this wine been tasted on its own. Marvellous nutty hazelnut characters which seem to be interchanging between oak and maturity in their source giving the wine a nice elusive element. Using the Ravenau as a direct comparison it was not in the same league but nor would it be expected to be either. A very nice wine at it's peak possibly just past it.

Notes of honey and camomile, very fresh and round, drinking really well and quite memorable.

PR 1969 Extravaganza: Worth trying but is a bit too sherried and short.
