Contracted producer: Louis Barruol, Saint Cosme Estate.
Decanted 30 mins including some swirling. Wine Soc recommended 1 hr.
Cepage: mostly Grenache.
N….lacks any charm, a whiff of alc, some fruit. Boring.
C….middle red, a hint of age on the edge though not even beginnings of brick
T…..pretty Dry on the scale, feels still immature even though 7 yrs old, some inky fruit concentration; enough ripe fruit and enough depth, some nice gentle tannins, alc is a bit warm. Some earthy minerals and savoury character, a few spices, a touch of orange peel/bitter choc-mocha. Seems more a Foodie style than a happy glugger.
Feels like cellaring will be rewarded with a better wine.
QPR?…..costs £19.00, feels worth £15-18.00, I will buy again in reported good vintages.
