  • In the sea of branded 3-for-£10 swill that passes for Tesco's wine offerings this is as close as you will get to a bottle of proper wine from their stores. Quite firm and tannic, but underneath there are notes of raspberries and red, peppery fruit that makes this drinkable. Decent enough to make it one of those repeat purchases you make just because you don't want to waste your decent wine on the neighbours who just happen to pop in for a drink and then engage in a never ending rant about how much they pay in school fees for little Quentin and Felicia and how the SUV needs 4 more tyres and how much they very much like the "astonishingly good value" branded wine with a picture of a kangaroo that I should try because "it really is as good as all that French stuff"

  • Re-corked overnight and much improved. Still a little on the acidic side for my palate but a nice (and good value) Crozes Hermitage.

  • Lots of woody aromas with a tannic fruity palate. Long, slightly acidic finish.

Not fantastic but perfectly drinkable - maybe needs more air.
