popped and poured last night, and as I well knew it got better as the night went on. However interestingly, it seemed to take less time. Dark fruit, well balanced, perhaps a hint of mocha. Nice acidity and a velvety mouthfeel. I think this wine is still an excellent QPR...

balance in check, fruit is adequate, dryness and tannins are good. took a little while to open up, cannot just pop and pour! this seems fair for $12, but nothing special.

once again, upon opening this wine was merely ok. The next night however, it was worlds better. This wine definitely needs airtime. Great balance, acidity, and mouthfeel....A real winner and great QPR...just give it some air

(Carm Douro) #1;COLOR-dark; NOSE-heavy layer of raspberry tart; tight; little black tea component; herbaceous component; TASTE-this is extremely good; very complex; huge layers of good black chocolate; really rich black fruit; gorgeous creaminess - almost like an Egg Nog component which is just perfect; black licorice, figs; heavy on the black cherries; extraordinary length, finish & silkiness for a $12 bottle - like a $30-$40 Spanish wine; this is a Home Run; WS-88; GV-91+

Just delicious, ripe fruit with a clearly evident Iberian/portuguese nose. Lovely, especially for the price.

Beautifully, smooth wine with ripe dark fruits and cocoa powder elements. I am so happy I bought two bottles.
