Deep purple in glass. Pronounced intensity on the nose. Consumed over the course of two nights. Blackberry, cassis, cocoa nibs, violet and cigar box. Medium acidity and high grainy tannins. Alcohol is not out of balance, it it lets you know it’s there. Long silky finish. Wonderful to taste now but will hold the rest of my bottles 2-3 years minimum.

Dark as midnight. raspberry and tobacco aromas. Polished and intense on the palate, raspberry, cherry, dark chocolate, hint of cedar. Gorgeous. Fine, intense tannins -- needs 2 to 3 years to soften. Excellent acidity and balance. Finishes long, intense, cherries and anise. Gorgeous cabernet if still a bit young. Decant if you want to drink now or wait 2 to 3 years. Drink over the next 10 to 12 years.

Chocolate, cocoa powder, black pepper, ripe red cherries, ripe red plums on the nose. (I guess red fruits are typical of Alexander Valley, no?) The flavors are pretty consistent with the aromas except for an addition of ripe black currants. You can taste a lot of oak on this; but nothing veers out of balanace. I'd like some green notes that tell me it's CS; but I know I'm not going to get that here. Oh well, it's still delicious.
Full body with medium + acid, medium - tannins that linger. Overall a great example of this particular style of CS that stays true, flavor wise, to Alexander Valley. Drink now!

Phenomenal right now after 30 minute decant, but will get better with rest. Great new world wine. Will purchase more to sit on.
