Slightly riper than what I have previously tasted from Nicole Lamarche, but this is still oozing with juicy, perfumed red fruit. Expressive nose of strawberries and flowers. Light red cherries, strawberries, juicy and vibrant, gourmand. No hard edges, facile a boire. At home on a Friday night.

A very solid Bourgogne Rouge. Excellent balance of fruit/acidity. No detectable heat (it's only 13.5% after all), nothing New World about it. Clearly a pinot from Burgundy. Hot vintage managed really well. Nothing over the top here. Doesn't punch above its level, but a very solid performer within the Bourgogne Rouge level. Great daily drinker. Appropriately priced at $30.

A year hasn't been kind to this wine. The fruit isn't quite as boisterous, but now that's highlighted a bit of a raisiny character and a weird tartness - was this acidified? I quite liked this on release, but not right now. A very tough slog, and most dumped.

Another successful passing of the torch (though starting already at the domaine since 2007) Nicole's first vintage under her proper name. An excellent, exceptional wine even at this level. Vatting period of about 15 to 18 days, in open oak vats at a low temperature (controlled by thermo-regulation). In oak casks for 14 months. The best parcelles, combined with the savoir-faire, and a strong winemaker at the helm promises an even stronger continuation of this legendary domaine Bravo #domainenicolelamarche !

Juicy, crunchy fruit. Salt and stones. Raspberry and strawberry notes. Lean bodied, vertical. Just a delicious bottle of wine.
