Over 2 nights open. Dark ruby color, no sediment. Light to medium intensity nose that has a top coat of alcohol with underlays of blueberries, tobacco, and light florals. Palate, likewise, is a bit muted and the tannins are still somewhat firm. Early on, my sense was more PV, but as it aired out it seemed to show more Merlot. I feel like this could use several more years before it really finds its groove.

Medium+ ruby, initially very muted but opens up a lot with air. Very earthy nose of some blueberries, floral violets, slightly astringent wood, pencil shavings, some crushed pepper spice and lift from high alcohol. Not very Cabernet-like as I don't get many cassis or currant notes, I would guess this blend is high (if not majority) in Merlot? Palate is dry, medium bodied, earthy with lots of leather and cedarwood, much less fruit than on the nose, finishes medium length with lots of cigar box, smoked tobacco, wood. Decent tannins with good grip.

Pnp. Medium body, ruby to garnet with watery miniscus. Cherries and some dark fruit on the nose plus a polished note that I like in some Bordeaux - almost high gloss leather? A little touch of horse blanket. More of the same on the palate. Medium acid, medium plus tannin. A little hollow in the mid palate but medium plus finish. A nice wine, hoping it becomes a little more integrated with time since it's still on the young side.
Mid palate improved day 2, confirming more time or more air or both would help.
Updated with Cam's notes for my reference: deep purple in the glass, just a shade off of opaque. Amazingly fresh bottle bouquet with violets, black fruits and scorched earth opening up to reveal vanilla-specked graphite, blueberry syrup, leather and walnut notes riding a core of riverstone minerality and a pretty clove perfume. Chewy on entry with juicy blackberry fruit riding robust, mineral and tobacco-laced tannins that melt on your palate to unfurl a 30-40 second finish punctuated by a lovely violet and rock perfume. 54% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Petite Verdot 14% alc.

Pretty on track with my previous note. Still pretty tight - could still use more time. Opened with some air but can use a long decant.
