Very steely, chalky expression of Chard with little fruit, high acidity and lots of yoghurt, cheese, cream, brioche notes from MLF. Like a good Champ but without bubbles.

What a fine and mineral Chardonnay from Champagnes famous Mesnil sur Oger chalky terroir, aged in oak for 9 months. Pale yellow colour. Aroma has some reductive sensation with notes of smoke, toast, honey, peaches, yellow plums, sulphur touch. Palate is focused and steely with grippy quince like acidity, saline touches. Beautifully expressed chalky minerality along vivid fresh apple fruity flavours, hint of stone fruits at the lengthy finish.

Organic viticulture, aged for nine months in oak, 12% ABV. Lieu-dit "Les Volibarts". Marvellous Le Mesnil terroir expression, cool and steely but not austere, so pure and precise, palpable smoky chalk but with a lovely generosity of fruit, linear but silky, medium body, fresh yellow apple, excellent generosity and length. At wine bar Vino Sapiens, Paris, France.
