  • FIVE days later from undecanted bottle: WOW!
    Actually perfect.
Amazing that the last 5oz smell like this.
    Gorgeous Pinot.

Palate is in that perfect drinkable state!
Spices and length, with bitter of dregs, but still clear so can't seem to tell if there were dregs at all except that this was the last portion of the bottle, in there for 5 straight days.

    Great wine!

  • 2 days later from undecanted bottle. All that sediment settled. Got a full glass out of the bottle, clear.

    No more funk at all.

Nose of purity which could get me a good clue to what clone of Pinot Noir. I'd say 667? Blended with Pommard? Don't know, but my blending days got me thinking about this excellent juice.

Gorgeous nose. Pure. Love it. Blind this could be confused with a Beaune 1st Cru.

Palate of round fruit. Energy, stars with length. Excellent! Might have had a touch too much air, but still! Delish, savory, mouthwatering, soft, beautiful. This is why so many followers of Burgundy. Well done Tasmania!
There's stones, wild herbal bitters, teas, building tars, sea, salinous crunch.

    Excellent juice!
Decant off sediment, give it 6 hours, or slow-ox for 24 for perfect drinking of this.

  • Decanted to a raging nose of funk and energy. Fantastic starting nose!

It calmed down after about 15 minutes and muted up a bit.

Nose of lush berries, tart of rhubarb, barnyard, horse-barn-straw-laden-floor, stones, gravel driveway to my garden.

Palate of just like the nose, tart fruit, stones, fresh garden, berries of Marion, grip that built.

    Paired with pan-seared ribeye, blue:
    Nose was the same.
Palate was sweeter with more fruit to balance out the tart funk.

    Love Tasmania!
I miss our getting wines from there.

This bottle I let rest for 3 weeks.
Bought it from Tom at K&L. Thought it was pricey, but now I know why he told me to buy it.
It was clear upon decant, but the sediment started to show quickly. Could only get out about 14oz. Will let the rest settle out for the night and try again tomorrow.

What I love about this wine are the stones, the funk, the gravel, the real. Sip after swig I'm really enjoying this!
Reminds me of Pinot from the Alps toward Slovenia.

    Quality!
    Gets better and better.
Can't wait to pour the last tomorrow to see how it shows.

    The label art is awesome!
    Reminds me of DeKayeN.

Import sticker on the back says 12.5% and I believe it. Tastes like it. So yum!

    2 hours after decant:
Nose of crunchy raspberry with crushed rocks. Most of the funk is gone, but still residual.

    Palate:
Steely raspberry with tart cherry and rhubarb, crushed stones, dry rhubarb juice.

    Their webiste is awesome:
"Dr. Ongo is an homage to those who insist on preservative free wines then smoke cigarettes and snort drugs off cisterns."

    Ha!
I know that's not for this wine, but hella funny.
    The art is really good.

I wish I had a magnum of this! I would drink it all tonight: It's that good!

  • Appearance: deep garnet core with red hues. Med bodied
Nose: getting red fruit notes, floral, spices , some forest floor
Palate: this wine will do well with decanting. Red fruits: raspberries, cranberries are evident, balanced by the savoury notes of forest floor, herbal spices. Tannins are velvety smooth. Long finish. This is a complex wine that is well balanced and integrated between fruits and savoury flavours.

    Def recommend !
