I haven't written a note for 2 months because I wanted my 1000th to be a special wine. It's now 4 months since my first New York Wine Experience where I tasted some great wines (about which I had only been able to read previously) and I believe this Grange is the most memorable. I do not have a detailed tasting note but I was impressed by the power, complexity, balance and surprising elegance of this massive young wine. I cannot imagine where this will be in the future. This score is the highest I have yet given in CT--(am I "grading" too harshly?) A brief list (for my own purposes) of the other most memorable wines I remember from the NYWE (in no particular order): '05 d'Yquem, '15 Solaia, '03 Monte Bello, '14 Cristal, '19 Masseto, '15 Dominus and '10 Leoville Las Cases.

Australian and new Zealand tasting (Copenhagen): Tasted bin 707 2019, Grange 2018 and Quantum 2018. All ratings based on performance right now. A clear winner was Grange. They all deserve time in cellar!
Bin 707: Deep purple color. Extremely rich and fruity, mint, cassis. High tannins and alcohol, full body, long finish. 93
Grange: 97% shiraz, 3% cab. sauv., Deep purple (extremely dark). Black berry, mint, cassis. Medium acidity, high+ tannins, high alcohol, full body, long finish. 95+
Quantum: 87% cab. sauv., 13% shiraz. Brand new cuvee. Deep purple color. Closed at the moment. Medium acidity, high tannins and alcohol, full body, long finish. 92

Drink from magnum. Herbs, blackberries. Tannis aren’t forced and the wine feels quite approachable at such a young age for grange. I would still recommend holding onto bottles for 15 years min. Beautiful. 98
