A magnificient Suchots from Girardin in his best vintage. It had some wild and gamey red fruit that blended with forest and spice on the nose and palate. Palate was expressive and charming. The finish was slightly short but still a wonderful expression of Vosne in a great vintage like 99. 92+

This is as bretty as the notes below advertised - there's a big hit of vigneron's ass-crack when you first open the bottle - but it's also as good as they say. Underneath the funk there's red fruit, vosne spice, great acidity, and just enough residual tannin to give it some back bone. Motherwatering, medium bodied, tons of flavor, just a generally delicious burg at maturity. But it has eau de rim job, so don't be surprised.

Interesting nose with a strong farmyard, dried meat, VA character intermixed with red fruit, with air even adding some dough and further funk. For some it was a bit too much but I liked this as the typical French aroma expression. Many of the Leroy wines have this kind of nose as well.

Bacon, animal and dark fruit on the nose and palate. This bottle was more Gevrey than Vosne for me.

Magnificent, elegant, bacon notes on the nose, fully resolved palate still with some fruit.
