Blind tasting at Ungrafted. Loads of lychee and riper stone fruit screaming from the glass. Initial impression was that it must be Gewurz (also from Alsace). Of course, the structure didn’t support that. The acidity was too high for Gewurz, but didn’t come across as high enough to be riesling to me. TDN notes are there, but presented more as rubber than petrol. Learned something on this one.

Pale lemon colour. Medium and youthful nose with green apples, peach, apricots mango, melon and lemon. Medium taste of green apples, lemon, peach, apricot, mango, melon and lemon. Medium (+) long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium body. A very good Alsace Riesling. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well with sushi or spicy.

Enjoyed. Nice fruits, dry but with plenty of weight, good acidity. Nice with food and without.
