  • I am a fan of this chateau (see my various TNs), however, this wine left me perplexed and honestly I dislike it. The wine smells and tastes red-fruited with an unpleasant strong scent of beetroot, not what you would expect from a pure Cabernet Sauvignon in a ripe vintage. To be fair, there is also some florality and a nice touch of cinnamon. In the mouth the wine feels flat, too sweet and finishes rather abruptly and on a bitter note. Aeration helped, but did not turn the wine around. No, this "natural" expression of Ch. Durfort-Vivens doesn't seem to have anything in common with the 2020 grand vin.
