  A proper mature Barolo, fantastic bottle, impeccable, nose straight off very expressive with cherries & mushrooms, WOTN until the Georges Lignier Cdlr strutted its stuff

  Gave it a long decant and it was singing! Indian spice, truffle, menthol, moss, rose petal and tar. So much going on. The palate had a core of something sweet and vinous. It had so much savoury nuance. There was a touch of volatility adding lift and punch and the finish was carried by sinewy tannins. It was right in the zone, drinking beautifully.

  Fantastic tertiary nose of mushrooms with buckets of red fruits, dark chocolates, still gloriously alive, wonderful Barolo

  Still a lovely bright appearance. There's some truffle and earth development. It has echoes of red fruits and there's a hint of tar. It has good flavour intensity and a finish that is still carries by ample structure.

  Served blind, thought a high end Burg, cloudy red, a very pretty color, beautiful translucent red, zen-like nose, strawberries, spices, mature, elegant in the mouth, very Burgundian, yummy wine, a ethereal wine! 1970 Francesco Rinaldi Barolo
