Dark red/purple. The nose is dominated by black cherry, blackberry, and dried herbs, but there was an off-putting hint of animal/barnyard. I'm not sure if this is on purpose or this is a defect (Bret) in this bottle. The palate was slightly better, and the nose was mostly confirmed. There is a subtle hint of ocean/saline and a strong black pepper finish. Medium plus alcohol, medium-plus tannin. The balance was off due to the poor nose. I would like to try another bottle to compare my initial tasting here.

I can’t quite make up my mind on this one. The nose is quite beautiful and fun but the palate is watery and somewhat empty. This is a rare case where I would recommend aerating the wine. I get notes of dark fruit (blackberry, blueberry) and animal fur on the nose. It reminds me of a Georgian Saperavi even. There are black pepper and anise, too. Some leather and dry vanilla bean. On the palate, it’s juicy with cranberry, prune, and liquorice but then it just kind of disappears leaving only acidic and alcoholic aftertaste. Maybe the alcohol is too high. The body is kind of not there despite the alcohol and it gives me slight heart burn. Surprisingly, it does get better with time and in the mouth, not on the nose, so my rating is not as harsh. 8-/18

Bättre än första flaskan jag provade, doft av jordgubbar och smak av mörka bär, kaffe och kakao. Angenäm syra och mjuka tanniner

Not a fan. Too fruit forward. Very boozy

Gott! Salt, mörka frukter, vanilj/smör och lite pepprigt!
