Interesting. Definitely more California than France. Buttery and nutty and big with the acid backbone etc etc — honestly if I didn’t know it was from Burgundy I never would have guessed it wasn’t from Sonoma. Knowing it was from Burgundy… maybe a little more chalk? A little more subtle? Either way a very good wine, though not groundbreaking.

This was a pleasant surprise. Although we thought it would be good, we didn’t expect it to be REALLY good. This is from the burgundy series from @kostabrownewinery and it’s a “real” white burgundy. Yellow color, graham cracker and honey blossom nose, restrained acid and full mild glycerin mouthfeel. Palate a hint of petrol, mineral and flint, almost a little tannic. Food wine. Will open again in a few years.

Nice first attempt at Brugundy Chardonnay by KB’s new owners. Color of pale yellow. Scents of melon and apple. Tastes were consistent with scents and with minerality and crispness. Certainly a big difference from most California Chardonnays.

Janice liked this more than I did as I am a bold, buttery, full bodied type of Chardonnay guy (think Aubert).
