  • From a recent auction "mystery pack".
13.1% abv. Cork came out in one piece with an Ah-So and was only stained up about 1/4.
Good acidic streak, fruit is present but faded. Light and elegant with nice silky mouthfeel. Not much depth at this stage. Isn't falling apart at all - actually, drinking pretty well, though clearly on the downside of its drinking window.

  • Holding up remarkably well and in great shape. Blind tasting at M&S - showed younger than it is.

  • Definitely the best bottle of the six I purchased. Still showing some brett but it was more in harmony with the fruit and textural elements. Opened about 40 minutes prior to serving. Darker black fruit, dried herb, dusty leather, barnyard, and subtle menthol. I liked the structure too, the tannins are just perfectly integrated and there's still a bit of acidity left. Drank well with food and over the course of about four hours.

  • Very developed and somewhat tired. The brett is showing but not as bad as in previous bottles. Lots of dried leather, dusty soil, dried cherry and plum, and mountain herb elements on the nose. The tannins are soft and barely there but there's still a bit of acidity. Most of the elements of the bouquet show up on the palate, overlaid by the center-palate-drying effect of the brettanomyces.

  • Past peak but still interesting. Had some brett notes, and could have used more acidity and tannin but then again it's a '95. Lots of developed flavors of leather, briney olive, hoisin sauce, asian five-spice, dried cherries, and black currants. Smooth and soft, with a gentle finish. Intellectually a fun wine.
