  Purchased for $23. After a lousy wine night last night, I decided to do some exploring this afternoon and opened my very first Pét Nat.
  
  Pét Nat stands for Pétillant Naturel, which is also known as the Méthode Ancestrale production method for making sparkling wine. This method of sparkling wine production uses icy temperatures (and filteration) to pause the fermentation mid-way for a period of months and then wines are bottled and the fermentation finishes, trapping the CO2 in the bottle. When the desired level of CO2 is reached, wines are chilled again, riddled and disgorged just like the traditional method, but no expedition liqueur (sugar) is added.
  
  This wine is dark golden in color, almost bronze. Cloudy. Reminds me of a hard apple cider. Notes of apple cider, honey, yeast and a slight note of pear. Definitely some residual sugar because there's a sweetness on the palate. Average acidity and shorter finish.

  Quite dark color. Nose of apple spritzer and a bit of honey and yeast. Refreshing, a hint of residual sugar. Very refreshing, slightly bitter. Typically refreshing pet nat.

  Trübes, mostiges Gelb im Glas. Erinnert stark an einen naturtrüben Apfelsaft. In der Nase tummeln sich Teig, Hefe, Brioche, etwas verhalten auch Pfirsich und Maracuja. Am Gaumen schön frisch, leicht, fruchtig, mit Lindenblüten und etwas Honig. Schöne Säure, sprudelt fast wie Limo. Hat Jung und Alt wohl gemundet. Gab es als Aperitif, kann ich mir aber auch gut zu Meeresfrüchten oder Magerfisch vorstellen. Easy drinking und sehr gutes PLV. Jederzeit gerne wieder.
